ACT 2: Curriculum

STUDENTS LOVE OUR THEMES! Each term, our learning themes provide a rich mix of stories, songs, videos and art. One or two class sessions are actually trips to Arts performances and tours in Singapore or your child's in-class performance!

Our Philosophy, “Preparing you for LIFE through the ARTS & HISTORY!”, inspires our team to achieve our company’s goal to provide the most positive and joyful learning experiences for children enrolled in our classes, while developing in each a more in-depth knowledge of themselves, others, and the beautiful and expressive world of the Arts.

Unique & Interactive Learning Stations

ACTs of life’s dynamic, interactive classes stretch each child’s potential for learning!

Students move through interactive learning stations that are updated as our themes change. There is something for every child-- from ages 1.5 to 15 years!

Children actively explore ARTsy stations: Mozart’s Music Station, Lea Salonga’s Performance Station, Shakespeare’s Reading Station, Monet’s Art Station, and more.

Our exciting curriculum encourages CREATIVITY! Movement, laughter and FUN are always part of our lessons. Students practice various life and academic skills through a unique blend of stories, songs and drama in a learning environment that is resource-rich and always developmentally appropriate.

Children learn at a surprising rate!

A few of ACTs of Life’s Themes and Field Trips

1. Dancing Dragons & Dinosaurs!

-Children discover the joys of dancing with dragons and singing with dinosaurs. Uses a rich mix of books, videos, art, and new vocabulary words, children's natural talents and imagination
-The term includes a field trip for children and their families to the Singapore Dance Theatre(SDT) for a back stage tour and a picnic at the performance of Ballet Under the Stars.

2. Travel Far and Wide!

-The Red Balloon, a video and book sourced from New York Museum of Modern Art is used. It is about a young French child named Pascal, who takes a journey that brings him all around Paris and then closer to the clouds!
- ACTs teachers then create a learning journey using our collection of famous award winning children’s books & songs.

“It was their first trip to a museum, now every time we pass it or we see artwork they talk about ART” Payton and Prescotts' mother.

3. Dressing Up With The Stars…

“DRESSING UP UNDER THE STARS!” is a wonderful learning adventure using Asian stories. We add the playful Western practice of children dressing up for a classroom Halloween party. This includes an educational field trip to BABY PROMS concert for young children conducted by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO).

ACTs of life has also taken children to performances at The Singapore Repertory Theatre, iTheatre, ACT 3, etc. We will continue to be on the lookout for the best performances for kids that enhance and help us build on our learning themes.
